Rockville, MD – March 8, 2017 CNSI, one of the world’s leading business solutions providers with vast experience developing and delivering innovative information health care management technology solutions, has appointed Sharif Hussein, Senior Vice President for the Midwest Region, to the Board of Directors and promoted him to a newly created position as Chief Strategy Officer.

Under Hussein’s leadership, CNSI’s healthcare business has experienced incredible growth over the last five years. Hussein has implemented and directed operations of the Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) for the state of Michigan and the MMIS for the Utah Department of Health. In a partnership between the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services and the state of Illinois, Hussein is leading the development, implementation and launch of CNSI’s next generation healthcare platform evoBrix – the nation’s first completely automated real-time and cloud-enabled MMIS.

As Chief Strategy Officer, Hussein will work with the management team to set CNSI’s technology and business roadmap. He will guide industry, government affairs and business development strategy to ensure CNSI’s continued and aligned growth within the healthcare market.

“I’m honored to work closely with the founders of CNSI and the talented team of leaders to grow CNSI’s healthcare business,” Hussein said. “As we continue to seek ways to bring innovative solutions to the industry, I look forward to my role in guiding those future efforts.”

Hussein brings 40 years of experience to CNSI, where he is responsible for directing and managing diverse healthcare initiatives and multiple state businesses across the organization. He previously held senior leadership positions at BearingPoint, where he provided oversight, guidance and counsel to field offices in terms of tactics and approaches for identifying, targeting and executing business opportunities; and at Orascom Telecom, where he played a key role in defining the Corporate Sales and Marketing Strategy for the newly created telecommunication’s venture in Iraq and supporting the U.S. lead provisional government. Hussein also previously served as President for CNSI’s International Division, where he was responsible for all international business development, marketing and project activities.

“Hussein has been at the forefront of the dynamic healthcare landscape, and the trust he has built with our clients is a testament to his leadership, capability and experience,” Adnan Ahmed, CNSI’s founding partner and President said. “We are excited to see him continue to drive innovative solutions as Chief Strategy Officer at CNSI,” Ahmed continued.

Hussein is appointed to Michigan’s Middle Eastern Commission where he serves as second vice-chair Middle Eastern American Affairs. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from the University of Maryland and completed the Executive Leadership program at the Yale School of Management.
