ROCKVILLE, MD — CNSI, a fast-growing provider of innovative healthcare IT solutions, today announced its participation at 2006 MMIS Conference, which is scheduled to take place September 24-28, 2006 in Providence, Rhode Island. CNSI entered the Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) market in 2001 and quickly gained recognition for developing the industry’s first J2EE, Web-centric MMIS. CNSI built eCAMS? from the ground up, leveraging the latest methodologies and software technologies in its design approach. Prior to eCAMS, states operated Medicaid programs on legacy systems, many of which were almost 30 years old. Legacy Medicaid systems are riddled with inefficiencies and do not promote high-quality healthcare. The technology is antiquated, in some cases obsolete, heavily reliant on proprietary software and allows little flexibility for adapting new programs and initiatives like Medicaid IT Architecture (MITA). The bottom line — legacy systems don’t keep pace with the increasing demands of today’s Medicaid environment.

CNSI is currently working with Maine, Washington and Michigan on the long-overdue modernization of their Medicaid IT systems. CNSI staff will be available in booth # 5/6 to field questions about eCAMS and other healthcare solutions. Also at the show, CNSI representatives will share industry expertise and real-world experiences through participation in two sessions.WHO:Arvinder Singh, VP of Enterprise Solutions Division, HHS, CNSI Singh has more than 10 years of experience developing and implementing enterprise applications. During the last six years, he has led the implementation efforts of several government healthcare information systems at CNSI. Singh is responsible for ensuring CNSI’s leadership in the MMIS market by promoting continuous improvement in the eCAMS? solution line. Singh is a recipient of Federal Computer Week’s 2006 Rising Star award, which recognizes the up and coming leaders in the government IT community.

WHAT:”MITA to RHIO: Medicaid Enterprise as a Communication Hub”In MITA vision, a Medicaid Enterprise will transform into a communication hub, with interoperability and data exchange with Regional Health Information Organizations (RHIOs), state and federal agencies, beneficiaries, provider networks and other payer networks. This session will provide a roadmap on how to leverage MITA to establish a RHIO.
