CNSI Names Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Walker comes to CNSI as its clinical thought leader as the company continues to transform health care administration with best-practice health care information technology and policy. He will oversee CNSI Clinical Affairs, including evidence-based medical policy. CNSI currently provides interconnected health care solutions and services for state Medicaid projects as well as those in the federal, military, and commercial health markets. CNSI capabilities cut across payer solutions, health information exchange and transition of care, and the subsequent clinical integration of these for personal health management and consumer engagement.

He has served as a Medicare and Medicaid executive and has held senior posts in disability, worker’s compensation and commercial capacities. His impressive credentials and industry experience make him ideal to lead and strengthen our efforts.”

Dr. Walker has held diverse clinical and leadership roles in health care in both public and private sectors, giving him a unique perspective on current industry challenges and opportunities. He has held executive positions that include Medicaid Medical Director for Department of Health and Hospitals of Louisiana, Medical Director for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee, Medical Director for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana and Clinical Regional Medical Director for United Healthcare. He also founded a network of clinic services, Occupational Medical Center, which successfully merged with Concentra Health Services.

Dr. Walker holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry from Louisiana Tech University. He earned his Medical Doctorate and performed post-graduate training in Internal Medicine at Louisiana State University School of Medicine. He earned a Master of Public Health degree from Medical College of Wisconsin and a Master of Business Administration degree from Louisiana State University College of Business. Dr. Walker also earned a Master of Science degree in Biotechnology from Johns Hopkins University. He completed a residency in Environmental Occupational Medicine from Emory University School of Medicine.

He is also board-certified in Occupational Medicine (American College of Preventive Medicine) by American Board of Medical Specialties. Other postgraduate medical training includes Medical Genetics from Yale University School of Medicine.
